Buttweld tees are essential components in piping systems, available in two main types: equal tees and unequal tees. Equal tees, also known as straight tees, have all three outlets of the same diameter, making them ideal for joining three pipes of the same size and ensuring a smooth flow transition in pipelines. On the other hand, unequal tees, or reducing tees, feature one outlet of a different diameter, allowing for the connection of pipes of varying sizes and ensuring proper flow distribution within the system. These tees are manufactured according to the ASME B16.9 standard, which ensures they meet the required specifications for pressure, temperature, and material quality.
Buttweld elbows are critical components in piping systems, designed to change the direction of the pipeline. They come in various types, including 45° elbows, 90° elbows, and 180° elbows. A 45° elbow changes the pipeline direction by 45 degrees, suitable for gentle bends. A 90° elbow changes the direction by 90 degrees, commonly used for sharp turns in various systems.
